“Read.”

The command was repeated, and finally the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed:

“Read in the name of your Lord who created. Created man from a clot. Read, and your Lord is the Most Generous, Who taught by the pen, taught man that which he knew not.”

These verses later became part of Surah Al-Alaq, the 96th chapter of the Holy Quran.

This historic moment marked the beginning of the Quranic revelation and the start of the mission of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the final messenger of Allah.
